I've never played Spatoon but I do have a a bit of an understanding on the functions of the game。 I can't say it's bad but I thinks it a touch more miss than hit than the first。 Let's see how。CoverThe cover really is what I would expect from a Splattoon but I think it might be a touch too safe。 (I think having team blue on the cover to balance the S4 and hold off on Rider until later。 I think he could own his own cover for a future issue。) With that being said the one thing I love is the color s I've never played Spatoon but I do have a a bit of an understanding on the functions of the game。 I can't say it's bad but I thinks it a touch more miss than hit than the first。 Let's see how。CoverThe cover really is what I would expect from a Splattoon but I think it might be a touch too safe。 (I think having team blue on the cover to balance the S4 and hold off on Rider until later。 I think he could own his own cover for a future issue。) With that being said the one thing I love is the color swap from blue to yellow green which is a nice nod to Rider’s team color。I like the thoughtful the touch of adding all four S4 team leaders on the back。 InteriorAgain for how colorful the game is going black and white was very daring。 Let's get it out of the way。 What's with the ongoing nude joke。 At least it went from seven times to four in this issue。 Still not funny and still failing to make it funny。 I wouldn't call any of this book really all that funny。 It does direct to creative and imaginative directions on the battlefield but it's more battle than shenanigans which the first did better。I do want to point out that seems a little unusual is that rank and really the entire Corocoro Cup tournament seems to be completely overlooked here。 Mainly this book is just match after match after match。 I do have to give credit to the first one。 It took more time to breath and relax。 Even had a hotel scene to see our Blue Team be themselves。 I do like how they cover this insane joy Bobble Hat has and making it the kryptonite of one of their opponents。 It may not be that subtle but the moral about how a positive attitude and strong friends can concur anything is nice to see。It's also not that subtle。 Rider's transformation was obvious back in the first book。 It's going to be interesting on what they could possibly do with him leading on。 Over all I think the story is weaker as it mainly focusing on defeating the final S4 players over focusing on over arching plot or even character development, or really anything else which is why they are probably threw in a new plot line。 。。。more

The S4 arc。 It started a manga。 In volume 2, the s4 is heavily involved and manages to conclude it exactly right。 It doesn't hold a candle to the Emperor arc further on, but enjoyable nonetheless。 The S4 arc。 It started a manga。 In volume 2, the s4 is heavily involved and manages to conclude it exactly right。 It doesn't hold a candle to the Emperor arc further on, but enjoyable nonetheless。 。。。more

Quick read, D likes it b/c he and Andrew like to play the game Splatoons on the Nintendo Switch (and before that on the wii U)。 I haven't personally read any of these book in this series, but I read some reviews online and the character's pants fall down often in the books, I guess to be funny, and they "censor" the comic drawing with the squid character。。。 not my favorite book series that he's read, but man can he read through these books in a flash! summer reading。。。。。 Quick read, D likes it b/c he and Andrew like to play the game Splatoons on the Nintendo Switch (and before that on the wii U)。 I haven't personally read any of these book in this series, but I read some reviews online and the character's pants fall down often in the books, I guess to be funny, and they "censor" the comic drawing with the squid character。。。 not my favorite book series that he's read, but man can he read through these books in a flash! summer reading。。。。。 。。。more

Man, another fantastic read! The action in this manga (book) was really intense, and I’ll bet things will get even more intense as I read on。 Love it!

WOW。If you've seen my recent review of the first volume of the Splatoon Manga, you'll know I wasn't that much of a fan of it。 It was childishly predictable and there was no tension ever。 The best things about it was the world building aspects and learning about the guns。 So I went into Volume 2 with low expectations as I thought it would be the same story again。 Blue team nearly loses, blue team wins, next chapter, rinse and repeat。 HOWEVER。。。This volume was WAAAY better than Vol。 1。 I actually WOW。If you've seen my recent review of the first volume of the Splatoon Manga, you'll know I wasn't that much of a fan of it。 It was childishly predictable and there was no tension ever。 The best things about it was the world building aspects and learning about the guns。 So I went into Volume 2 with low expectations as I thought it would be the same story again。 Blue team nearly loses, blue team wins, next chapter, rinse and repeat。 HOWEVER。。。This volume was WAAAY better than Vol。 1。 I actually felt like there was tension and story rather than just childish antics and predictable turf wars。 This volume, Goggles, Specs, Bobble Hat and Headphones lose against Skull and his team who is one of the best snipers in Turf Wars。 Rider, one of the team mates they went up against last time trains them and it becomes much more enjoyable throughout。I actually started to root for these characters。 I actually am liking them more that I've been with them for a while。 I really enjoyed Goggle's concern for Skull at the end and I absolutely loved the turf wars in this volume。 They were much better。 I actually liked Rider a hell of a lot more in this。 I think he might become a more awesome character now that they actually developed him more。 Holy Hell! This was a very enjoyable edition to the Splatoon Manga! I liked it a lot more than Volume one and I had such a fun time with it。 I wish manga was longer and by that I mean 300 pages of manga。 It was a cute volume and I enjoyed it deeply which is something I never thought I would say。 Hinodeya is really improving as a storyteller and I can't wait for the next volume as one of the characters from the game thinks of Goggles as important to his cause。 If you didn't like the first volume or was disappointed by how shallow it was, Vol。 2 is much better in every regard。 There was tension, story, character development, fun more appealing jokes and some cool world building still。 I recommend it! 4/5 。。。more

this manga series is geared towards people much younger than i am, but the characters are still likeable。 i may be biased as a fan of splatoon。

Book two keeps to the same comedic feel of this first volume。 If you enjoyed that then this should keep you satisfied。It stays light while continuing to introduce weapons and their abilities。 The poor of this series is clearly to teach their audience how to play the Splatoon game effectively, which is not all bad。 After all the Pokémon anime is based around this idea and has like 20+ seasons。Though halfway though it stops the main plot to give us side stories。 This manga is pretty light story wi Book two keeps to the same comedic feel of this first volume。 If you enjoyed that then this should keep you satisfied。It stays light while continuing to introduce weapons and their abilities。 The poor of this series is clearly to teach their audience how to play the Splatoon game effectively, which is not all bad。 After all the Pokémon anime is based around this idea and has like 20+ seasons。Though halfway though it stops the main plot to give us side stories。 This manga is pretty light story wise to begin with, I would have preferred to just jump into the next part of the main plot。 。。。more

I liked this a bit more than the previous volume。 I think the spirit of the games is captured very well, but it is still a little silly (I know this is a kids book, but it goes a little too far some times)。 Some fun battles happen here, even if they would be impossible in the actual game。 The ending got me VERY excited about where Volume 3 will go。 The lack of color is still a bit of a bummer for a game that’s so colorful。
